In 1982 I burned part of my written production of two years, within a glass cone that after getting smoked up during approximately 1 hour exploded breaking itself in seven parts.

The ashes I introduced them in two glass rods.

During this time it wrote on often at music score paper.

Finished the process, between ashes a piece of score paper had left, with the word SILENCE.

E (R-A) - The components of the Cista de Reus, happened to constitute the piece E of the project ERA (still in course) like first unit of three.

The project ERA constitutes a reflection on the passage of time, the Memory and the Language

 

 

The artist orders the world to be included/understood and to explain itself. And their artifice, their sculpture, their poem, their work, continues comprising of the nature in permanent change.

The life is paradoxical memory and: the energy that flows is petrified memory, language.

Petrified language: principle of the civilization, construction of life in community.

Memory is the foundation of happening and the progress, of history and all that construction are nature and change.

The ephemeral thing is eternal. The perpetual thing is the change.

The ash is the brief, volatile memory, the ephemeral shade. Uselessly kept by ballot boxes, cistas, túmulos... The hardest stone cannot retain it

A person, a life. But to try to invert this principle, to each person, many objects, food, dresses, furniture, documents... more of those than can spend. Once burned, the ash is shadow in a box of disillusion.

E - As MEMORIA is a sculpture piece, land-art, poem that uses like constructive elements the stone, but in this case unlike MEMORIA that used exclusively the stone of the place and the techniques of the place, in E uses stones of very diverse origins a glass ballot box which it contains part of these stones and constructive concrete elements that compose in this case the letter E from the surface of the land in depth, that is that the piece practically is buried.

It was constructed in 1984 like first element of the project ERA that is completed with other two pieces and located in Castellbell, near the locality of Reus in the property of the escultor Rufino Mesa.
